Spider veins and varicose veins
Spider veins and varicose veins on the face and the body can be treated at Dionysiou Medi Spa by Dr. Christakis Neofytou, our angiologist, using the HAPMONY XL PO with the KTP 540 and ND-Yag heads. These lasers work by emitting a beam of light that is selectively absorbed by hemoglobin, a blood pigment that gives reddish-blue color to blood vessels. Depending on the size of the vessel and the color or the spider or varicose veins, the physician will choose the laser that he will use for the treatment.
Usually, 2 – 4 sessions suffice to help you achieve a satisfactory result both for the treatment of spider veins and for the improvement of varicose veins of the lower extremities.
In certain cases, depending on the size of the veins of the lower extremities we can combine this method with sclerotherapy.
Sclerotherapy involves injecting sclerosing agents directly into the vein. Modern sclerotherapy medications, such as Aethoxysclerol, are extremely safe and effective.
One treatment is done every 1-1.5 months, if more than 1 treatments are needed, and always the sclerotherapy precedes the laser.
